I decided to show love to the people of underground media because underground media plays a major role in the careers of recording artist who are not in the mainstream . I was breaking my brains , tring to decide who & what Im going to include as a first media feature on this publication . Therfore I decided to interview DJ Ready Cee of The Ready Cee Show since he has been one of the first radio deejays to host a program on the internet.

V: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING RADIO ?

RC: Shit, ever since I was playin music off my tape deck over a CB radio mic in ‘86! LOL
Man I started out doin it on the rough seas of pirate radio in 1998 along with DJ Snuu & DJ Yooter on 91.9FM in NYC with a show called The Underground Lockdown. We were on from 12-4am every Saturday night. We had some conflicting timing issues a while into it and stopped the program after a year. In the meantime I connected with the owners of the station and worked it out to continue the program on my own as The Ready Cee Show in ‘99. I’m not with that station any more but this year we’re celebrating 10 Years of holding up that true Bronx Hiphop tradition that everyone seems to be abandoning lately.

V: WHAT & WHO INSPIRED YOU TO HOST YOUR OWN RADIO PROGRAM ?

RC: WHAT inspired me the most was hearing the overwhelming amount of wackness that had infected the radio at the time. Phony DJs and uncultured hosts were running rampant on commercial radio and the doors were closing fast on skilled DJs and real hosts from the streets. When the money takes over its out with the realness and in with the robots yaknow! So when the chance came up to do my own thing in the market where Hiphop matters most I jumped at the opportunity. I’d already been DJing for 20 some years so it was a breeze making the transition. That also gave me the ability to keep things more in-house with the production because I already had my own idea about how I wanted it all to play out: Me, Dj Mixx, Snuu and my homie The Walkin’ L as the co-host. As far as WHO inspired me, I’d have to shout my big Brother, Craig for keeping me well fed with records in my early years, Snake, Big Al & Casanova Rock or Dr. Funk, Dr. Rock, Ushay, Marley Marl & Pete Rock from the IN-CONTROL days, Red Alert just to name some…

V: DO YOU PLAY MUSIC FROM RAPPERS WHO ARE NOT REALLY LYRICAL BUT POPULAR AMONGST MOST OF THE MASSES ?

RC: I play whatever I think is dope. I don’t put up any bullshit boundaries between my ears and the speakers when it comes to music. If I like it then I’m fuckin’ with it. I don’t care if one other person likes it or if a trillion other people are feelin’ it. The opinion of the masses has no presence in my musical decision making. Who I am and the people I represent are those who mold and create this form of music every day and we come from a time when Hip Hoppers had an identity and took pride in their interest and craft. I was doing my thing before ‘THE MASSES’ even considered Hiphop a respectable form of music so I don’t give a shit about ‘THE MASSES’.

V: NAME A FEW CELEBRITIES & UNDERGROUND ARTISTS WHO YOU’VE FEATURED ON THE READY CEE SHOW .

RC: I’ve been blessed to touch base with an avalanche worth of intergalactic superstars throughout the time I’ve been doing what I’ve been doing. No one can be mentioned before my good friend DJ Kool Herc who’s given me alot of wisdom to work with in this jungle! I’ve had many many artists on the show man… Grand Master Caz, Craig G, Tony Touch, Lord Tariq, Nice & Smooth, Percee P, AG, Dres from Black Sheep, Trife and the Theodore Unit, MC Shan, Immoral Technique, Ali Shaheed, Shyhiem, Das Efx, Sadat X, C Rayz Walz, J Dilla REST IN PEACE, DJ Premier, EPMD, OC, Kool G Rap just to name some off the top…

V: SO THIS IS YOUR 10TH YEAR OF THE READY CEE SHOW. HOW DO U FEEL ABOUT BEING ON FOR A STRAIGHT DECADE AND HOW DOES IT FEEL BEING ONE OF THE FIRST RADIO DEEJAYS TO HOST AN INTERNET RADIO SHOW ?

RC: Its feels good but its just a drop in the bucket. I’ve put in a lot of work before these past ten years and it all counts to me. The internet is still very new in my opinion. Things change every day. Theres so much room for creativity online that time really doesn’t even factor in with it. Its constantly evolving faster than we can really keep up with it individually. Thats what makes it such an intriguing and challenging playing field. The Ready Cee Show definitely takes advantage of whatever technology is within it’s reach.

V: WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR IN A RAPPER BEFORE YOU PLAY HIS OR HER SONG ON YOUR SHOW ?

RC: I’m just lookin for dope shit. I don’t have a list of criteria that MCs have to match or anything. I don’t care about your background, I don’t care what you ate for lunch yesterday just give me a dope joint to rock! I’ve had so much music submitted to me over time that its somewhat desensitized me to the plight of the common rapper I admit that. There are times that the redundancy of aspiring artists gets to me. Most are under the assumption that there’s some type of formula that has to be followed in order to ‘make it’ and that causes a lot of copy cat rappers with no originality. I’m mostly impressed by artists who ignore trends and do what comes naturally. If you’re truly any good it’ll show. Its something you’re born with you can’t learn how to make a dope Hiphop song, it might sound good but I can tell when shit has no soul.

V: I HEARD MY BROTHER DJ POLARITY IS SPINING EVERY WEEK ON THE SHOW, HOW DID YA HOOK UP ?

RC: We definitely have my man Polarity on from time to time but the only other DJ who’s on my show each and every week is DJ Mixx. Me and Polarity have been down for years. He was a regular on the show when it was still on 91.9fm out here. He was just coming up as a DJ at that time but he’s definitely since made a name for himself in New York City. We both started Fat Beats Sundays where we would rock all day live at Fat Beats Record Store and showcase other DJs. We put that on hold for the winter but we got big plans for bringing it back in a major way this Spring.

V: WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON INDEPENDENT RADIO PERSONALTIES CHARGING ARTIST FOR AIR PLAY?

RC: If they’re willing to pay fuck it. That’s what commercialism is all about anyway. Selling a product and gettin paid. Musical integrity and pride can’t be found in that situation but that’s not what its there for if you ask me. I’m not gonna charge anyone to play their music but if they wanna run up and slide me a c-note to ensure a spin or two then bring it on! LOL. I’ve been doing this a very long time and I do more for Hiphop before 10am than most of these phonies have done their whole lives. I don’t have anything to prove to anyone at this point. I am totally down with anyone making money. If I was doing commercial radio I wouldn’t be able to play the real shit that I play anyway. Id be forced to play mostly booty Top 40 stuff so no, I wouldn’t have any problem at all tappin’ rappers’ pockets if they want their WACK shit played on WACK commercial radio. Just don’t bring that shit near The Ready Cee Show! Lol

V: HOW IMPORTANT DO YOU THNK INDEPENDENT MEDIA IS TO REAL HIP HOP AND THE UNDERGROUND MUSIC SCENE IN GENERAL ?

RC: I’ve always been a huge supporter of underground media and new technology but its turned into sort of a double edged sword nowadays. While the new media and technology have given independent artists more freedom to take their work all the way from A-Z, its at the same time opened the doors to let a lot of people in who don’t really belong. This new equipment and software has made it easy for people without a drip of talent to appear like they do. Hiphop has always taken new technology that wasn’t necessarily made with the Hip Hopper in mind and manipulated it to our own usage. Now companies are making products designed specifically for Hip Hoppers to use and that creative aspect has been destroyed. Its become an assembly line of mass production with no one manning the quality control station! LOL. We have to get back to being more creative. Find something that wasn’t meant to be used to make a beat and use it to make a beat. Find a topic that you have no knowledge of, do some homework and write something new! Challenge yourself! Everythings so easy now. Its hard to appreciate something that so easily accessible. We had to work hard to get our Hiphop on back in the day so I guess that gave us more appreciation for it.

V: ARE YOU INTERESTED IN TAKING THE READY CEE SHOW TO A COMMERCIAL RADIO STATION ?

RC: Commercial radio would have to go through some radical changes before it would be ready to contain The Ready Cee Show. I’m not really interested. Radio is so local. Been there, done that. Not on a commercial level but our frequency was just as strong as any other so we had NYC on lock for 6 years straight whenever that ON-AIR light lit up! The nets where its at for me. I’d much rather take it to satellite or HD radio before the old analog-ass FM dial. For me radio is dead. Its an old played out form of broadcasting and its out of your control. We live in a self-created playlist age. An IPOD AGE. People want to hear what they want to hear when they want to hear it. Thats why I now do the show LIVE on Ustream every Wednesday & Saturday and podcast all my episodes through iTunes for the world to enjoy. We’ve had well over 60,000 subscribers to the podcast over the last few years and its growing daily. The reason is because people have a choice now. They’re not forced to adhere to the musical opinion of some unassociated radio program director who doesn’t know the meaning of dope cuz he’s lookin for a suit and tie rap thats cleaner than a bar of soap! HAHA BIGGUP GZA! Real talk though!

V: WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO PURSUE A CAREER AS A RADIO HOST ?

RC: Just do it. People are creating podcasts every day and puttin em out there. There are thousands and thousands of podcasters on Podomatic which is the network that houses The Ready Cee Show. Other programs we’re down with like DJ Mixx’s The Chronicles, Apollo Treed’s Soup Kitchen Exclusives, my homie DJ Toshi and Classic Storm Radio, The DSew Show out in London, producer GeeO Supreme’s podcast…. the list goes on. There’s no reason for anyone who wants to do it to not be on. Just be true to the game thats all…. and for God’s sake if you claim to have a HIPHOP radio show then get a fuckin DJ if you’re not one already. The DJ is the backbone of Hiphop music and if you dont have one around then you’re not dealin with much. Last word of advice, if you’re a phony DJ, MC, producer stick to the commercial stuff cuz we’re patrolling the underground heavy this year and you WILL be revealed.

Big respect goes out to everyone who tuned in all or most of the day yesterday for our MLK DAY MIXMASTER MARATHON! Many people use that term “DJ” very loosely nowadays and we felt it was our duty to provide a real definition of the term in our own way by smashing the 1-2s non-stop for 12 hours straight! Salute to The One Arm Bandit, DJ Mixx, DJ Swift, DJ Killa Kal and the incredible DJ Snuu The Butcher who murdered it as usual. Shouts go out to everyone who came thru the lab during the broadcast, Phil Da Pain, The Proper MC, Parakhan and of course The Sexcee Goddess who held down and moderated the chat room all day! And a special shout definitely goes out to SAV KILLZ who came thru as our special guest!

We’ve complied the entire Marathon in order for your viewing pleasure below!

What’s your name?

My name is Merc Versus. MERC was an old graffiti name I used from when I used to tag, and VERSUS is an acronym for Violence Expressed Reveals Someone Under Stress. Also MERC represents murder and VERSUS represents conflict.

Have you ever been known to rock under a different name?

I have rocked under a few different names. In the late 90s and early 00s I called myself Mr. Deadbeat or the Deadbeat Poet, which kind of relates to my current name as in ‘murk verses’ and ‘dead beats’.

Where are you from?

I am from a small town in east central Indiana called Muncie. Home of Bonzi Wells, Garfield creator Jim Davis, and Ball State University. Also the fictional location of the Tom Slick cartoon and Close Encounters of the Third Kind movie.

What’s it like to live in a small town? Are you able to support yourself full time from your music career?

In the small town where I live, jobs are hard to come by. Muncie is basically a burnt out college town. There’s nothing to do here outside of Ball State besides getting into trouble. There is a crime problem here, and a big portion of the musical community doesn’t respect hip hop culture as a valid artform. I don’t know how many times I have ran into band members that say they can rap or try to freestyle for me like it’s some kind of party favor or novelty act. I don’t think some of them get the fact that this is a craft and not what they see on MTV with somebody bragging about how much money and how many women they have. I also wanted to mention that the security in most popular Muncie venues doesn’t know how to handle the ‘native’ crowd and by that I mean the non-collegiate local black crowd. They are either shook to death or overly disrespectful. The true school hip hop kids are the living inheritors of the legacy of blues and jazz. Downtrodden and disenfranchised people speaking truth to power. But then again I don’t expect middle class musicians to completely understand poverty poetry. On the other hand there are certain figures in the music scene here that show us utmost respect and we love them for that. They realize that I put in just as much work if not more than any other band or group in this town when it comes to promoting myself.

I am currently unable to support myself full time with my music career, but that’s the goal. We sell production, graphic design, journalism, management, and of course our own music and if we’re lucky we might get gas money for driving to a show to perform. There are a lot of shady cats (promoters) out there who like to use others’ talent to help pay their rent and could care less about helping to nurture and develop their scene by giving other local artists a chance to shine. They would rather make themselves the opening act. I once got into an online discussion with a promoter a decade younger than me that was trying to explain to me why my brand of music doesn’t matter anymore. Then they proceeded to direct me to a website where I could witness ‘the next big thing’ in Indiana hip hop. This same person was completely unfamiliar with anyone in the Indiana hip hop scene. Needless to say, I checked out the website and was absolutely not impressed. It’s still a desert out here. Any suggestions? Lately we’ve been branching out to Ohio and Michigan for shows.

What’s your history? How long have you been in the game?

I’ve been in the game on a local/regional level for about twelve years. I can remember writing rhymes as far back as second grade. Some of my first inspirations back then were groups like Run DMC, Newcleus, Kool Moe Dee, and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, specifically Melle Mel. Between the grade school and high school age I was more into music with a positive and conscious message, such as Brand Nubian, Poor Righteous Teachers, and King Sun. I was also a fan of the supremely lyrical brand of hip hop like Rakim, Kool G Rap, and Big Daddy Kane. I was a big fan of the Juice crew. When I first decided to pick up the mic in the mid-90s, some of my inspirations were Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, Wu-Tang Clan, Gang Starr, and the Beatnuts. We used to do a lot of local shows here and there and sell our little tapes. I’ve always been a writer, so I took up the craft of hip hop journalism for a hot second starting in 2000.

Since then, there were various group disputes, personal and legal problems, and artistic differences between myself and my associates that kept me running in place for a few years. Up until that point my brother and I had been involved in about 7 local releases and had begun to break through in terms of learning how to promote ourselves online and in public. We used to have hip hop parties at Ball State Universities that we promoted under the title Live Mic Nite. By 2007 I was fed up. I scrapped everything, renamed myself and started from scratch. Since 2007 I have formed a new crew called Ironworkers Guild (IWG) which consists of some very talented Indiana emcees and producers (Shake C, Siah Soze, Woodenchainz, Big Pipe, The Problem, Science Born). I have released a couple solo releases and a couple Ironworkers releases both online and locally since then. My label is called Invisible Inc Multimedia and the artists on my label include myself, my brother A Man Called Relik who is a phenomenal spoken word poet, and an upcoming producer/emcee named Stone Messiah. We also recently got blessed with the presence of C-Rayz Walz (of Immortal Technique’s crew Stronghold) and Kevlaar 7 of Wisemen (Wu-Tang) to oversee a couple of our upcoming projects as executive producers.

Do you produce music as well? If so, what gear do you use?

Yes, I have been a producer since the beginning. I used to live and die by the now-defunct Ensoniq products such as the Ensoniq EPS and the ASR-10, I went through a few of those. I sold a few, a few got stolen. It took a long time to give in, swallow my pride, and soften up my purist mentality, but due to convenience I eventually gravitated to a computer-based production system. I use Fruity Loops and my co-producers use Fruity Loops and Acid Pro. Shame on us. Blame it on 9th Wonder. I basically use it to sequence the samples and program the drum tracks, not for the cheesy drum sounds or the auto-tune plug-in. Honestly I still prefer hardware to software. Some of these cats making beats out here have never touched a keyboard if wasn’t attached to a laptop. Some of my co-producers also play several instruments. And I’m eventually going to dust off this bass guitar I have, I promise.

As you may know, I’m originally from SBI….have you found it difficult to be an artist in Indiana?

Yes and no. In terms of promotion, we get love from real hip hop fans. There seems to be a divided scene between the more commercial street artists and the true school hip hop artists, that’s a given. But there also seems to be a general attitude from city to city that each local squad might have a master plan that some other squad can’t get with. On some we got the secret formula and you don’t. It’s an ego thing. I’m like, let’s trade fans. You have fans that haven’t heard me and I have fans that haven’t heard you. Let’s bridge the gap, it’s better for both the cultural and business aspects of the game.

We have done shows all over Indiana and I have plenty of people that I consider my homies, fellow artists, and fans, but I think until Indiana hip hop artists realize that we can do more for each other together than we can apart things will remain the same. Kill the superstar egos if you don’t have the substance and drive to back it up. And the whole swag movement made egos inflate even more. Everybody thinks they are too fresh for Crest, no matter the talent level. Apparently some people think glamour makes up for talent in rap these days. Also, big ups to South Bend. Strictnine is one of the illest producers in the state and I consider him, Breon Warwick, and Devilman to be my peoples.

Who are some of the artists that have inspired you to do what you do?

I would say the lyrical ability and presence of Kool G Rap, the wordplay of the D.O.C., the smoothness of Guru of Gang Starr, the soul of Same Cooke, the militant outlook of Peter Tosh, and the buckwild artistry of Bad Brains. That’s a pretty accurate description of my inspirational matrix.

What topics to tend to cover in your music?

I honestly believe that a truly talented emcee could write a rhyme about washing his car and make it sound ill. I adhere to that school of thought in the fact that some of my songs might just be straight lyrics with no subject matter. Then we have songs that address certain socio-political issues and concepts such as homelessness, poverty, teen pregnancy, drug use, you name it. It’s not really a matter of the hot button issue or buzz word of the minute to me, it’s much more personal than that. Sometimes almost too personal for the listener to understand, but it’s wrapped in such vivid wordplay that music fans can appreciate the level of complexity and care that were put into the presentation.

What do you see yourself doing in five years?

If at all possible, I see myself securing deals for some of my artists and being in the process of establishing my own indie label. I would also like to have an Indiana-based hip hop festival to showcase our state’s talent. I’ve always wanted to be more involved with my local community in terms of education as well.

What should people expect to see when they come to your live show?

People should expect to see an intoxicated man bleeding his heart out through the words he says over punishing beats. My team and myself have a variety of styles, and we have been compared to many different artists. Some of the comparisons flatter me and some confuse me. I have heard Outkast, A Tribe Called Quest, and Wyclef Jean. Then I have heard Wu-Tang Clan and Mobb Deep. One thing is certain: we do our best to give you a slice of our lives through our musical performance.

Are you able to do shows with touring artists who come through your area?

Definitely. In the past year or so we have had the honor of opening for such respected performers as Wu-Tang’s Wisemen, Canibus, C-Rayz Walz, Doodlebug of Digable Planets, Black Sheep, Glue, Wu-Tang’s Timbo King, and Killah Priest. In the past I have opened for Twista and All Natural. One thing that I think a lot of local artists need to realize is how to market themselves. By strategically selecting the type of artist for which you open, you can snatch some of their fans and increase your notoriety. For instance, if you’re a more gutter gangster type artist you’re not going to get much praise opening for someone like Aesop Rock. On the other hand, if you’re a more introspective and emotional emcee you may not get the response you deserve by opening for Spice 1. I don’t think a lot of artists get that. This is one instance where division is good for the culture. If hip hop was analyzed and categorized by the media as much as rock and roll it would make it a lot easier for unsigned artists to market themselves. Contrary to popular belief, everyone that calls him or herself a hip hop artist doesn’t deserve to be classified under one banner.

Is hip hop is dead?

No, hip hop isn’t dead. It’s in a coma. The hopeful thing about that is the true artisans and fans of this craft act as a life support system.

Any last words? Shouts?

I want everyone to remember that most things are valuable due to their rarity. When everybody looks, acts, dresses, and sounds the same it decreases the general value of humanity. Our strength is in our differences. Don’t call me a hater if I criticize your music. Take a look in the mirror and consider the fact that not everyone agrees with your way of doing things. Just because I have an opinion doesn’t mean I’m hating on you. Just because a critic says your music sounds like everyone else’s doesn’t mean he has a personal vendetta against you. I also want grown men to stop idolizing rap stars that are half their age. Get some self respect. I want to send a shout out to all my Wilderness Guerrillas, Indiana and worldwide. IWG stand up. Big ups to France, the UK, Germany, Italy, and everyone else everywhere that purchases our CDs online. Peace to my Invisible Inc Hollow Men, A Man Called Relik, Stone Messiah, and Science Born. And lastly, not everyone was born to be a pimp, thug, or hustler. Slow your role. Better yet, know your role.

Our homie, the legendary Shirt King Phade-O is back at it again with a brand new mural burning the walls at the Hiphop Cultural Center in Harlem, New York. If you don’t know your history about The Shirt Kings, do your homework then appreciate the work that this dude has been putting in for decades! MTV News caught up with Phade-O during the creation of the new mural and let him explain it’s details…

From MTV Newsroom:

Legendary Graffiti Artist Phade Creates Mural For Hip-Hop Museum

Posted 12/23/09 3:39 pm ET by MTV News in Music

By Rahman Dukes

If you ask iconic New York City graffiti artist Phade (better known as Shirt King Phade from the legendary Shirt Kingz) about the current state of hip-hop, he’d more than likely tell you it’s alive and breathing and resides in the Bronx, New York.

Whether you agree or disagree, Phade has been around the culture for decades and just like any other passionate hip hop fan is entitled to his opinion. But the difference between Phade and your average fan is Phade has lived the life of a rapper. And his crew, the Shirt Kingz, are his clique.

For those who may not be aware, Phade and the almighty Shirt Kingz carved a name for themselves in hip hop history by hooking up some of the ’80s biggest acts with customized clothing. From LL Cool J to BBD to Biz Markie to Jay-Z, you weren’t considered royalty in hip-hop if you didn’t own a piece of clothing from the Shirt Kingz.

While the days of Phade and his brothers Nike and the late Kashim designing shirts for the likes of Big Daddy Kane (featuring cartoon character Wyle E. Coyote holding a bottle of Olde English malt liquor) have passed behind him, Phade and Nike still remind the hip-hop community where the origins of the music came from: the art.

MTV Shows

For the past week, Phade has been hard at work on his latest masterpiece: A mural for the Hip-Hop Cultural Museum located in Harlem, New York. The mural will officially be displayed in early January and the hood is sure to be delighted at Phade’s work. The mural, as according by Phade, incorporates the four elements of hip-hp: The DJ, the MC, th B-Boy and the graffiti artist.

Some of the forefathers Phade credits with moving the culture include God, Kool Herc, Grand Master Flash, Furious 5, Grand Wizard Theodore, Spoonin’-Gee, Mercedes Ladies, Busy Bee, Fantastic Romantic 5, Crash Crew, Brucie B, Horny Horn & Ace Shades, Run-DMC, Sparky D, DJ S&S, Egyptian Lover, Evil E, Hengee, Rahmell Zee, Rock Steady Crew, UTFO, fellow artists Phase2, Riff 170, A-Riley, Kase2, Chain3 In, Zax 1, LK, Tybu2, Vine, Comet, Blade, Ree2, Slay1. Also, hip-hop pioneers such as Sugar Hill Gang, Parlament Funkadelic, Roger & Zapp Band, Kool & the Gang, Black Byrds, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Divine Sounds, Dexter Wansel, Barry White, Isaac Hayes, ET, Curtis Mayfield, Chaka, Jackson 5, Sylvers, Sunshine Band, Chaka Khan, Earth Wind & Fire, authors Donald Goines, Langston Hughes James Baldwin and many more.

Not to forget landmarks that have also influenced the culture such as the Abyssinian Baptist and Audubon Ballroom in Harlem, NY.

Hip-hop would not be where it is today if it were not for the likes of the late, great Marcus Garvey, Mahalia Jackson, Tito Puente, Louis Armstrong, James Brown, Billie Holiday, Sammy Davis Jr., Amiri Bakari, Martin Luther King, Malcolm-X, Adam Clayton Powell, W.E.B. Duboise, Michael Jackson and Jam Master Jay.

It was only fitting for the Christmas holiday that your favorite hip-hop team give you a gift that you can’t purchase at your local department store. Happy holidays.

Ok, so I hopped in a cab on 34th & 8th Ave in front of Madison Square Garden.. actaully I didn’t just hop in, the hack fuck rolled down the window and asked where I was goin first (illegal). I was only going up to 75th & Broadway. Had I needed to go home to the BRONX he would have rolled the window back up and bounced dumb quick. But being a Black Man in Manhattan and seeing that it was cold as FUCK and pouring outside I just let it slide and got in.

Every cab has the driver’s identification posted in the window of the back seat and it states the driver’s name and license info. 1,000% of NYC cab drivers are foreign cats from all corners of the globe. This dude was from somewhere, who knows. All I know is his name was Phat Ho….. PHAT HO FAM!! Hahahaha

As 2010 swiftly approaches we as the gatekeepers of REAL HIPHOP need to take inventory and gear up for what will be a rough road ahead! Its time to collectively mount an attack against the juggernaut of wackness and fraudulent DJs that has all but completely taken reign of our music. We’re doing our part by continuing to bring the world nothing but the rawest Hiphop straight outta New York City and beyond. Episode #154 brings you new music from Souls of Mischief, The Brown Bag Allstars, Bekay, Slum Village & many more! This week we also usher in a new alliance with London’s own FLAVOURRADIO.COM! Biggup goes out to DJ Locky Stylez and the whole team over at Flavour Radio which also includes DJ Mixx, Apollo Treed of Soup Kitchen Exclusives and many more!
