Ok, so I hopped in a cab on 34th & 8th Ave in front of Madison Square Garden.. actaully I didn’t just hop in, the hack fuck rolled down the window and asked where I was goin first (illegal). I was only going up to 75th & Broadway. Had I needed to go home to the BRONX he would have rolled the window back up and bounced dumb quick. But being a Black Man in Manhattan and seeing that it was cold as FUCK and pouring outside I just let it slide and got in.

Every cab has the driver’s identification posted in the window of the back seat and it states the driver’s name and license info. 1,000% of NYC cab drivers are foreign cats from all corners of the globe. This dude was from somewhere, who knows. All I know is his name was Phat Ho….. PHAT HO FAM!! Hahahaha

As you can probably tell we’ve been pickin up steam around here lately and gettin a lot of posts up. You’ll see a lot more from now on as we take the show and the site into a new decade and incorporate new technology as we go along.

Paranorm getting bent at the Fast and Furious World Premiere

I wanted to bust out an exclusive The Ready Cee Show / Parakhan Spit Hate story about going to the Fast and Furious World Premiere, but the trip was so uneventful that I’m not sure what to say. Red carpet…blah blah…Vin Diesel…blah blah…crazy car scenes…blah blah blah…party…get drunk…blah blah…dip. That’s it. Article done.

What I would really like to talk about in this post is general premiere etiquette and what to expect when you hit the event. Most of you out there have never been to a premiere as most of you don’t live near Hollywood or NYC, so what I would like to do is tell you what to expect and how to run it when you get to go to one. I’m definitely no expert on this topic, but I’ve been ripped at like 30 premieres so if you want to know what it’s like from my perspective…read on.

First of all, you’re most likely going to have to pick up your tickets at will call. This is pretty universal whether you end up at Mann’s, Westwood, or wherever. Always remember to look like you should be up in that shit just in case something goes wrong with your tickets. I’ve been lucky enough to always have people looking out for me, but ticket problems could ruin your entire night. Be cool and things will most likely work themselves out from what I can tell.

When you hit the red carpet, stare at the photographers like they should be taking your picture. A few will snap off on you just in case you’re someone they should be getting…but most won’t do anything which makes for a good game of staring them down. Son those fools. Pap’s are like bloodsucking leeches who get paid to sell pics so when they won’t even waste one digital flick on you…it’s kinda like a diss. Ok, not really….you (and I ) just aren’t stars.

Premiere’s almost always have free popcorn, water, and soft drinks. Grab what you want and don’t be in a rush to get to your seat as they will never start the movie until all the talent has left the red carpet and are comfortably resting in their seat. With regards to seats, there are only so many in the theatre (unless they are running the film simultaneously in overload theatres), so there is a rare chance that you can end up sitting next to one of the stars or other stars attending the event. Most of the time, the organizers have strategically designed the seating chart, but you never know. I’ve sat next to Wanda Sykes (like a midget), a seat away from Cedric The Entertainer, Steven Tyler, and within a row of Will Ferrell. Depending on who it is…I suppose you could get a thrill from housing the armrest from a star or sparking up a conversation. Just remember, it can always backfire on you because the stars trump your ass and can have you ejected pretty quick.

Watch the flick. If the movie really sucks…keep it to yourself as you’re sitting in a theatre of people who worked really hard to put it together. That’s pretty much a no brainer. You’re there on the studio’s dime and no matter how bad the movie is, you’re going to get hammered shortly, so keep it together. 

The movie ends and it’s time for the party to get started. yes. Not everyone gets to go to these parties so make sure you don’t lose your passes. There is nothing worse than being forced to go your own way after the movie when you know people are about to kick it at an open bar party with food. Make your way to the party and keep it moving.

The party is generally themed after key parts of the movie…meaning there are usually props or related themes going on. For example, at Anchorman we took pics at the news desk, at Talladega Nights they had tire changing stations and nacho cheese fountains, at the Simpsons they had some setup where you could get a mold of your hand holding a pink donut, at Barbershop 2 they had Oran Juice Jones…ok, he’s not a theme, but fuck…we ran into him and it blew Joey Ocean and I away. Oran Juice Jones was my shit. Anyway, you get the idea. The entire setup is themed after the movie. The only premiere that I recall not having anything was Two For The Money…but Al Pacino was there so they probably figured that was good enough.

Be sure to head for the food, eat whatever looks good, then head straight for the open bar. Depending on the type of movie, the crowd will either stay for a few drinks and split or the night could turn into an all around rager. I remember staggering out of Be Cool, blacking out after The Family Guy, and stumbling out of Semi-Pro, but maintaining ok by the time I left Team America World Police and Mr and Mrs Smith.  It can go either way and it’s all up to you.    

That’s about it. Have good time, get blitzed, and make it home alive so you can do it all over again.

So I’m sitting here listening to Diamond D….”Sally Got a One Track Mind” to be specific. The news is on in the background and the reporters are hounding Octomom. Boom! Octomom Got a One Track Mind!!!! It’s very fitting as she really does have a one track mind when it comes to spitting out kids, right? The common questions being asked in the media are: Is she going to depend on the state to help take care all those damn kids? Is she going to do that video for Vivid? Is she going to get smoked by the religious knuckleheads sending her death threats? Where did she get the money to cop that house? Is she mentally stable? These are all valid questions…but they’re also irrelevant to a certain segment of the population. Check.

The real questions that need to be asked…which East LA dude is gonna be the next to hit? Like, Octomom is a broke man’s Angelina Jolie for sure…and if you think fourteen kids can scare off a dude on a creep mission…pft..yeah right. My uncle John has twenty something kids…you think he was scared off by fourteen kids? So, which one of you slimey ass, Johnny Whore ass, Who’s the Mack ass rappers is gonna creep on Octomom? I’m guessing it’s going to be some down on his luck ass home care worker who is over there changing diapers when the he sees Octo swoop down the stairs in a donated gown. You know the deal. It’s gonna be a Kool Rock-ski looking dude who ends up bustin Octo (no disrespect to Kool Rock-ski as he is one of my fave rappers of all time…he is just an example of a Disorderlie).   And while I’m on the subject of orderlies, and Disorderlies,…my boy Kevin hasn’t worked at the hospital or in health care for at least 10 years….AND HE IS STILL WEARING SCRUBS. WTF. Are they that comfortable? How you just going to be running around town rocking scrubs like you work at the hospital and you don’t’ even have a job most of the time? How you going to wear Scrubs up to regional clothing distribution plant where you work at? Crazy.

If you’re someone who consciously decides to spend time out of your life exploring the ever entertaining world of RAP BEEF, then chances are you’ve heard of the recent situation between rapper Joe Budden (Jersey) and the city of Boston.  If not, I’ll give you a quick run down.  Ok, there was recently a concert at a popular Hiphop venue in Boston called The Middle East.  Joe Budden was the headliner for the night and there were several opening acts including Jaysaun of Special Teamz (Duck Down).  This particular event was put together and hosted by Special Teamz member & undisputed Hiphop embassador of Beantown,  Edo G (shouts to The Almighty RSO though).  What started off as a normal night of up & coming performaces turned a bit ugly when Budden decided to take to the stage earlier than scheduled.  His haste, according to him, was prompted by the fact the he felt most of the supporting acts were “making him look bad”. He then went on to express his dissappointment in the fact that the party was a “sausage fest” or “testicle festival” referring to the staggeringly outnumbered females in the crowd and demanded that all “niggaz” be ousted from the stage area by security before he begins…

My story:

Without my knowledge of the shipping date, I was shipped a very important package via FedEx on Thursday, July 10^th. I missed the delivery of the package on Friday, July 11^th as I was out and didn’t know it was on the way. I usually try to be on the scene when something is being sent as things have been known to get stolen off the stoop. The delivery guy left a door ticket with a tag # for tracking. It says “1^st Attempt” and we will try again on Monday. Why isn’t this big ass company working on Saturday anyway?

Monday rolls around and I make sure I’m around the house all day as I know what the package is and it is very important package related to my business and ultimately my money. I wait around all day and the delivery guy never shows up so I call the customer service center to find out what’s going on. They apologize profusely, say they have no idea what happened, put me on hold to supposedly call the local manager, and then return to say that the local manager absolutely cannot have the package delivered Monday night. The customer service woman gives me the option of trooping downtown to pick it up from the delivery center. Fuck all that. Why should I waste my gas and sit in LA traffic because these fucks can’t bring me something when they say they’re going to bring it. I cut the duckhead some slack (and she was def a dumb clucker) and ask her what time it will be delivered in the morning. I get repeated “3 pm Sir”. That package should’ve been the first thing delivered on Tuesday morning as for some reason unknown to them it wasn’t delivered on Monday. I accept 3 pm as the only other choice was to go downtown.

3 pm rolls around on Tuesday. No package. 4 pm….No package. Around 4:30, I give the customer service center a call on the 800 number. This time I get a customer service man. I explain the problem, he looks it up and says, “Uh oh…looks like the same problem that happened yesterday happened today….it was placed on the wrong truck”. How can you put shit on the wrong truck with all this space age tracking you’re supposed to be using? How the fuck can you put the shit on any truck 2 days in a row and bring it back to the station without a delivery attempt…especially when it has the correct addy on the shipping label? He goes on, “Sir, I have placed a notice to have this package put on the correct truck and delivered to you tomorrow at 3 pm. Nah son, fuck that shit and fuck your notice. I guarantee that you might catch me once with that bullshit but not a second time. The guy wasn’t argumentative, but he was matter of fact about telling me over and over, “There is no way your package will be delivered tonight. It just isn’t possible. I’m sorry for the inconvenience”. I was on some, “look guy, I’m not going to stop until my package is delivered tonight so what is your escalation procedure”. “There really is none sir, can you please hold?” How can there not be an escalation process for a big ass corporation? I’m waiting for him to get back so I can yell “put your supervisor on the line, write somebody up, fire a trick…I don’t give a fuck…I just want my package.” He comes back and offers to transfer me to the local manager in LA as my only option. I took that option as an escalation…better than dealing with his dumb ass all night. I can always call back and blast customer service if I have to. I’ve got a big ass bottle of Makers Mark and unlimited minutes bitches.

Ten minutes later I get transferred to the local FedEx manager in LA. I believe her name was Shareen. I was ready to go to war at this point, but she got on the line and handled business immediately and professionally. After recognizing that package should’ve been there on Monday and offering a sincere apology, she assigned a courier to have the package in my hands in the next hour and half. The package arrives without incident. About time. Big ups to Shareen the night manager!

Btw, the package clearly has the box checked on it for “No Signature Required” so this thing should’ve been left on the stoop in the first place. The data cds inside of the package all had their cases cracked and the plastic center that holds the cd was broken into bits. Fuck FedEx. I hope your fleet crashes and burns.

Moral of the story: FedEx is a bitch ass service and 2 out of the 3 people I spoke to were complete morons. You may be better off sending your shit via carrier pigeon.

I don’t know if that is the son he murdered or not…doesn’t really matter I guess. Chris Benoit lost his marbles and did what he did….shit happens all the time. Murder is monster. We rap about it, tv shows and movies make drama out of it, and it’s always the biggest story on the news. I’ve known a few murderers…and I’ve also known a few murder victims…and I can tell you that entertainment and shock value are the only winners when it comes to a murder. Murder sells because of the fear associated with having your life taken at the hand of another person. The atrocity is entertainment to most.  My question to you is…how does murder make you feel?

On June 25, 2007, Benoit, his wife Nancy, and their 7-year-old son Daniel were found dead in their Fayetteville, Georgia, home at around 2:30 p.m. EDT.^[109] Lieutenant Tommy Pope of the Fayette County, Georgia Sheriff’s Department reported to ABC News that police entered Benoit’s home on a “welfare check” after several missed appointments, leading to concerns.^[110] Pope also stated the police were not searching for any suspects outside of the house, as the instruments of death were located at the scene of the crime.^[111] Detective Bo Turner of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department told television station WAGA-TV that the case was being treated as a murder-suicide. The station reported that investigators had discovered, and would eventually cite as an official ruling,^[112] that Benoit murdered his wife and son over the weekend and hung himself sometime on Monday.^[113]

It was first reported to fans of WWE on their WWE Mobile Alerts Service and posted to their official website soon after. On their website, World Wrestling Entertainment released the following statement:

There are no further details at this time, other than the Benoit family residence is currently being investigated by local authorities. Tonight’s Raw on USA Network will serve as a tribute to Chris Benoit and his family. WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family’s relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy.

WWE cancelled the scheduled three hour long live Raw show on June 25, and replaced the broadcast version with a tribute to his life and career, featuring his past matches, segments from the Hard Knocks: The Chris Benoit Story DVD, and comments from wrestlers and announcers.^[114] However, once the details of the events became apparent, WWE quickly and quietly began distancing itself from the wrestler by removing merchandise and no longer mentioning him.

Media accusations of steroid use and “roid-rage” quickly surfaced after the killings, prompting negative publicity against WWE and professional wrestling overall. Toxicology reports released on July 17, 2007 revealed that at their time of death, Nancy Benoit had three different drugs in her system: Xanax, hydrocodone, and hydromorphone, all of which were found at the therapeutic rather than toxic levels. Daniel Benoit was found to have Xanax in his system, which led the chief medical examiner, Kris Sperry to believe that he was sedated before he was murdered. Chris Benoit was found to have Xanax, hydrocodone, and an elevated level of testosterone, caused by a synthetic form of testosterone, in his system. The chief medical examiner attributed the testosterone level to Benoit possibly being treated for a deficiency caused by previous steroid abuse. There was no indication that anything in Chris’ body contributed to his violent behavior that led to the murder-suicide, concluding that there was no “roid-rage” involved.

On August 30, 2007, Benoit was discovered to have been given illegal steroids not in compliance with WWE’s Talent Wellness Program in February 2006. Benoit received nandrolone and anastrozole. Eddie Guerrero and Brian Adams, were discovered to have been given steroids prior to their deaths during this investigation, as well as former WWE superstar Sylvain Grenier‎ and eleven other WWE superstars, who were suspended in accordance with the WWE Talent Wellness program.^[115][116]

After the double-murder suicide, former wrestler Chris Nowinski contacted Michael Benoit, father of Chris Benoit, suggesting that years of trauma to his son’s brain may have led to his actions. Tests were conducted on Benoit’s brain by Julian Bailes, the head of neurosurgery at West Virginia University, and results showed that “Benoit’s brain was so severely damaged it resembled the brain of an 85-year-old Alzheimer’s patient.” It was also shown to have an advanced form of dementia and was similar to the brains of four retired NFL players who have suffered multiple concussions, sank into depression and harmed themselves or others. Bailes and his colleagues concluded that repeated concussions can lead to dementia, which can contribute to severe behavioral problems.^[117] Benoit’s father suggests that brain damage may have been the leading cause of his crime.^[118] He also confirmed that his son was quietly cremated, but what was done with the ashes is not public knowledge.^[119]

WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia obtained the last known photograph of Chris Benoit. The photo was taken in the office of Dr. Phil Astin, on Friday June 22, 2007, just mere hours before the murders.^[120]

When I’m out and people ask me “What are you doing these days?”, I have a few stock answers to choose from, but more and more, I’m going to my number one choice of “just watching People’s Court”. Why? I think it’s a quick answer to summarize a portion of my day that really does exist while sufficiently answering a standard small talk question. After all, I know for a fact that certain people are more concerned with comparing themselves to me or searching for something to fuel a condescending remark…so my answer helps play into whatever they were searching for in the first place. Give the people what they want, right?

On the flip side, if my aces want to know what I’m doing, I’ll give them the same answer sometimes as a way to explain that I’m just posted up working on some beats, writing, or eating. I guess to sum it up, my answers are generally based on the truth but delivered in a fashion that allows me to see where a person’s head is at by their reaction. I like to watch you watch me.

So, for all the people out there that are genuinely concerned with what I’m doing…”I’m just watching People’s Court”. For all of you who could care less about what I’m doing…just know that “I’m just watching People’s Court” regardless of your existence. This blog post blows.
